Missouri Farms & Farmers
The following organizations have resources and information to help with your local Farm to School program.
Dan & Joanne Nelson - Danjo Farms
We are "Certified Naturally Grown" and "Animal Welfare Approved" family farm that works to bring our community fresh, affordable baked goods, fruit, berries, vegetables, meat and herbs. We have an on-farm All Missouri Country Store full of ours and our neighbor friends products, meats, fruit, nuts, vegetables and herbs in season. We go to several local farmers markets keeping our farm sustainable and viable to the community. We also run a CSA ( Community Supported Agricultural) farmshare program.
We are volunteers and board members with the SOBOCO (South Boone County) Learning Gardens in Ashland, Missouri. This program includes an actual lifestyle's learning garden on the elementary schools grounds to help facilitate the children agricultural education. With interaction in cooking skills and meal development with the cafeteria we believe this learning garden ads immense value to our children future and heritage.
Our goal is to unite the local farmers and schools together to build a stronger food security system for our local community. To give hope to the future generations to provide nutritious , affordable food source for all children.
