Pilot Light’s Food Education Standards encompass what Pilot Light believes to be the benchmarks of the food knowledge, skills and attitudes children need to have healthy relationships with food. Developed to maximize the educational benefit within the classroom, the Food Education Standards complement child food and nutrition behaviors already occurring in homes and communities. There are 7 Standards, which provide a straightforward framework for all stakeholders to integrate food education throughout the school day.

Pilot Light is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that connects chefs with teachers to create food-based classroom lessons that support children with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills they need to have healthy relationships with food.
